Hiring Criteria

C.A.T. and it's Partners hire only seasoned professionals with stable employment history and clean backgrounds —and treats them well. Our company has developed a true open-door policy with drivers. Driver managers and management are available to talk one-to-one and resolve issues on the spot.

We seek professional drivers with a commitment to safety and to providing excellent customer service. Our commitment to our drivers is to recognize and reward those qualities. The success of C.A.T. and our employees relies on delivering a quality product safely and on-time in an atmosphere of teamwork. Professional Drivers are a critical part of the teamwork required.

C.A.T.  Professional Driver Hiring Criteria
Ability to cross U.S. / Canadian border
Valid Passport or Passport card or a receipt where you have applied
Valid Class A CDL
1 year verifiable OTR experience
6 months verifiable in the last 3 years
At least 22 years of age
No more than 3 moving violations or serious violations in the past 3 years
No more than 2 accidents in the past 3 years
No DUI/DWI or Open container charges
No felonies
No drug convictions/possession charges
Clean Background
Stable employment history
Able to pass drug screen, DOT physical and road test
No careless/reckless driving charges
No rollovers or jack knifes
No 15+ MPH over speed limit convictions

* C.A.T. reserves the right to enforce stricter guidelines.

Hiring Process for a C.A.T.  Professional Driver
 
1.  Application must be filled out. You can do this:

    - In person at the recruiting office in Concord, NC
    - Via fax 704-792-9652
    - Online

 
2.  Pre-Qualification may require a signature if you fill out the online application.
     We will check the following before inviting you to orientation:
    - Motor Vehicle Record
    - Criminal Background
    - HireRight Report

3. If the reports are satisfactory, you will be scheduled for an interview with the Recruiter
(in person or over the phone.)


4.  Once interview is complete, you will be invited to Orientation*
   -Concord, NC
   -Policies, Procedures, Benefits, Safety, Maintenance
   -Drug Screen, DOT Physical, Road Test

5.  Pass Road Test

6.  Drug Screen Results are Negative

7.  Employment Verification is Complete

8.  You are hired as a professional driver for C.A.T.

*If hired, you will be paid $100 Orientation pay on the following Friday after hire date.
